May was a busy month! The classrooms worked hard on their auction projects and were very proud of their work. We hope you enjoyed the auction. The Cedar room planted acorns and got to see them sprout into saplings. They grew so quickly and the students loved seeing the root structure. When they were ready, the children helped transplant the saplings to larger containers. Each primary classroom now has their own oak tree sapling! The […]

Dear Maple parents, It was really nice spending time with our Maple friends at the beach last Tuesday. Our friends had lots of fun digging in the sand and exploring the shallow bodies of water. The most exciting thing was our discovery of jellyfish, hermit crabs, and horseshoe crabs in some of the water pools. For those of you who missed the beach day, we missed you too. Our end-of-year ceremony will take place on […]

The month of May flew by! As the school year comes to an end I always find joy in reflection. I wanted to share this practice with the elementary students so we did a group lesson on adjectives. Inside, the children have really taken responsibility for cleaning their classroom at the end of the morning work period and setting up lunch, and at the end of the day before they go home. They love working together […]

We welcome sunshine! Maple friends are eager to be here at school and ready to play.  After spring break, maple friends enjoyed reading the book, “The very hungry caterpillar.” They also liked butterfly object matching and butterfly sequence cards. They observed eggs to caterpillars, caterpillars to chrysalis, chrysalis to butterflies in a butterfly net, and released them to fly away. We also have been reading books about spring, how to grow plants, and surprise garden. […]

Dear Parents, Spring is in full bloom and the children have been working hard to help with Spring cleaning our indoor and outdoor classrooms. We have also been exploring the timeline of life. The timeline of life is used to paint a broad picture of life from microorganisms to humans and all that’s in between. While the Upper Elementary was in Italy, the Lower Elementary assisted in the Primary classrooms, being wonderful role models for younger […]

Dear Parents, March was a month of autonomy for the Willow Room. Our youngest students have gained a great deal more independence. They are developing confidence in their ability to make decisions. They are enjoying using their work plans to plan out the week’s work each Monday. The Upper Elementary students are preparing for their trip to the Montessori Model United Nations in Rome later this month. In yoga, they are learning a Senegalese dance to […]

Happy spring everyone! It’s hard to believe that we are already in the month of April.   March was a fun filled month of learning! The children enjoyed a fantastic visit from the Pandemonium Reptile rescue program. Thank you so much for generous donations.
