Dear Toddler families, Spring is finally here and the children are excited to spend more time outside. We will be going on the field before lunch, weather permitting. In March we worked on color recognition using the Rainbow work and making colored paper butterflies and flowers. The children were busy cooking oatmeal, making muffins and deviled eggs. The tadpoles are healthy and growing! We are excited to watch them get bigger and change every day. We have about 50 tadpoles. They will grow into African Clawed Frogs, or Xenopus laevis. Xenopus are frogs that are completely aquatic as adults. They will have lungs, but spend all their time underwater. The females grow to be bigger than the males. Dear Cedar and Oak Families, The Oak and Cedar rooms spent January focused on the European countries. We made flags and maps. Both classes learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and his success in helping to change laws which segregated our country. At our food prep table we learned to toast and slice bananas.
