The children in the Willow room has been busy learning about our continent’s history. In class, each child has chosen a location or tribe to study, from the Inuit people to the Mayan. More locally, the class got to explore historic Sturbridge Village. They learned how people lived, worked, and ate. It was cool seeing actual, historical buildings from 1800’s New England.
We wrapped up the month with Stone Soup day. They put a lot of time and effort into cooking and baking cranberry sauce and zucchini bread to share with the school and everyone’s grandparents or special friends.
In December, the students will be visiting the Mashantucket Pequot Museum. It’s an expansive museum of Native American history, with life-sized dioramas and a 16th-century village.
I hope everyone has a fantastic Holiday season,
Love, Miss Ashley
