Where a love of learning grows.

Elementary School Newsletter, May 2017

Dear Parents,

Spring is in full bloom and the children have been working hard to help with Spring cleaning our indoor and outdoor classrooms. We have also been exploring the timeline of life. The timeline of life is used to paint a broad picture of life from microorganisms to humans and all that’s in between.

While the Upper Elementary was in Italy, the Lower Elementary assisted in the Primary classrooms, being wonderful role models for younger friends. To continue the connection, the Lower Elementary will read to Primary friends as part of their weekly work plan. The benefits are amazing for all of the students.

For the month of May the Upper Elementary will be learning to create a PowerPoint presentation to share their adventure in Rome at the Montessori Model United Nations. The Lower Elementary will be focusing on writing skills. They will be starting with what makes a sentence, and expanding to a paragraph.

For the end of the year our Annual Bushy Hill Field trip is scheduled for Friday May 26th.  It will be an all day field trip for the whole class.  Instead of offering an overnight this year, we will have an end of the school year Elementary class community event.  I would like to invite families to come at 5:00pm to help make a fire with the students to cook dinner.  We will all have dinner together and go on a night hike.  It will be a truly fun family event.  The cost of this field trip is covered by the pizza fundraiser.  I hope everyone can make it!

In peace,

Miss Marci
