Dear Toddler families,

Spring is finally here and the children are excited to spend more time outside. We will be going on the field before lunch, weather permitting.

2016-03-24 10.13.49In March we worked on color recognition using the Rainbow work and making colored paper butterflies and flowers. The children were busy cooking oatmeal, making muffins and deviled eggs.

We are working on how to push our chairs back after finishing snack or a work to keep the classroom ordered.

Thanks to Lauran Barbosa for the carnations, the children greatly enjoyed arranging them. And thanks to Jeny Esty for the scallions. We will be planting them soon in our new raised bed.

In April, we will be planting seeds in plastic bags and watch them sprout and grow roots in the window. As a cooking project we will be baking little pizzas. As soon as the weather allows we will move our water table outside for outdoor sensorial fun.

We will celebrate Earth Day by planting seeds and plants in the front garden and raised beds. Please bring in a flower or a vegetable plant during the week of April 25th.  If you can help with the planting we would greatly appreciate it.

Lastly, our early childhood consultant Catherine Carrabba will hold another parenting workshop on April 11th from 5:30 to 7:30 on Language Development. Learn about the Montessori language curriculum and how you can support your child’s language development. Light dinner and childcare provided, please r.s.v.p.

Happy Spring,
Miss Yoonju and Miss Caila
