Have you ever wondered what a Montessori school is all about? Join The Children’s Tree Montessori School, 96 Essex Road, Old Saybrook, at our curriculum night on September 27th from 5:30-7:30pm. The Montessori certified teachers will take you on a step-by-step journey through the Montessori Language Curriculum to get a better understanding of how a Montessori student spends their day.

The Montessori Method of education was developed in Italy by Dr. Maria Montessori over 100 years ago. The method is a child-centered scientific educational approach that values the human spirit and the development of the whole child: physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. The certified teachers guide the students through the process of choosing self-directed, hands-on activities. Students learn concepts from working with the materials.

By touring each classroom you can see the continuum of the material’s progression through the levels, from a Montessori toddler through a 6th grade Montessori elementary student. This workshop is free and open to the public. Optional dinner and childcare is offered for $15 per family.

The Children’s Tree offers authentic Montessori education and was founded in 1995 to provide an alternative to traditional educational programs. The Children’s Tree is the only Montessori school in the area to offer schooling from toddler through 6th grade.
