It has been a fabulous February upstairs in Primary! We started out the month by enjoying all of the snow we got. The children had fun building several snowmen all around the playground. The snow helped fuel our enthusiasm for finishing up our continent study of Antarctica. In the middle of the month we were able to celebrate Valentine’s Day and also our 100th day of school. For Valentine’s Day we exchanged Valentines with one another and we also had a special snack of strawberries and whipped cream. We want to thank all of the families that contributed to our Valentine’s Day celebration. For our 100th day of school we counted up different objects in the classroom to make groups of 100. We also made a paper chain that contained 100 links. These celebrations were so much fun and we look forward to having them again next year.
We also welcomed 3 new primary students and a new teacher this month. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Miss Ashley back and to have Eli, Davin, and Kirah join us in our Primary family. The other children have enjoyed getting to know them and teaching them about our school and our classroom. They have already learned many of the works we have in our classroom, how to have snack, and many of the songs we sing at gathering time.
In the month of March we will be learning about rocks and crystals in our science area. We will also begin our new continent study of Africa! We are very excited to study the land, people, and animals that live in Africa. We will also be looking forward to the start of Spring, and enjoyed celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a special lunch on Thursday, March 2nd.
We are so thankful for the fabulous families that are a part of our Primary and CTMS communities and we hope you all have amazing starts to the Spring season!
