    Generate a weekly shopping list for needed supplies. 

    Create, design, and maintain all areas of the classroom, including weekly lesson plans  

    Supervise upkeep of all educational equipment and materials in the assigned area.  

    Observe and analyze the behavior of the children. 

    Maintain a daily record of the activities of the children. 

    Maintain and update a weekly record of the progress of each child. 

    Prepare periodic reports and Individual Development Plans; review with supervisor and parents. 

    Work with parents to promote understanding of their child's growth and development. 

    Effectively introduce and implement the principles of the Montessori Method.

  • Preschool Teacher - Immersive Spanish

    Children’s Tree Montessori School Inc. has an immediate job opening for a Preschool Teacher - Immersive Spanish at its location at 95 Essex Road, Old Saybrook, CT 06475. 


    Job Duties: Develop and implement a fully-immersive Spanish curriculum program for pre-school students (3–4-year-olds). Per Connecticut Law, pre-school is considered Early Childhood Education due to the children being taught are between the ages of 0-5.

    This fully-immersive Spanish curriculum includes teaching basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition; provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play; reading books to the entire class or small groups; organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music and storytelling; plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides children with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate; establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to children, all occurring in the Spanish language at all times. Each classroom will have one non-English speaking teacher who only speaks Spanish during the school day. Person must also be fluent in English to communicate and plan with their teaching team. Additional job duties will include opening the classroom, preparing and logging snack, facilitating drop off, supporting  independent student work, maintaining the classroom environment, observing student behaviors and taking notes, actively supervising lunch, recess, and naps, sharing daily activities in Procare, communicating with families, facilitating pick up, meeting with the classroom team and program-level team and closing the classroom. Obligations outside of school hours will include preparing for and attending staff meetings, family orientation, after school fundraising and community events, attending and running parent workshops; writing weekly messages and newsletters in Procare; writing progress reports; scheduled parent-teacher conferences; record keeping; material creation and development; accreditation reviews and committees; and attending professional development workshops.


    Qualifications for Ideal Candidates:

    Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. No prior experience required.

    Special Requirements: Must be fluent in Spanish and English.

    Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate:
