The Nest: A Community for Toddlers

The toddler community serves children who are comfortably walking (typically 18months and solidly walking) up to age 3, in a small and intimate group. The scheduling options are 4 or 5 days per week of either half day or full day. The school year runs from early September to early June with an optional summer program that runs 4 days per week for 6-7 weeks.

Children do not need to be toilet-trained. Teachers will help children develop bathroom independence when they are ready.

Children are taught to listen to their bodies and are encouraged to eat and rest as needed.

– provide experiences that stimulate the senses

– enrich the child’s vocabulary and understanding of language

– provide time for the child to repeat and master activities

– give children the opportunity to gain a sense of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence
